In 2010 and 2011 school and youth groups from Aberdeen to Aberdare staged their own productions of the specially adapted version of Billy Elliot the Musical. The internationally award-winning show was adapted exclusively for BYT by Billy Elliot writer and lyricist Lee Hall and Martin Koch (Musical Supervision and Orchestrations). Some groups were then selected to feature in a number of regional showcases at professional theatres around the country attended by Billy Elliot resident creative team. finally, some groups were invited to take part in the Billy Youth Theatre West End Galas, celebrating young talent across England, Scotland and Wales at the London home of Billy Elliot the Musical, the Victoria Palace Theatre.

Congratulations to all who took part, not only in our Regional and Gala performances, but also everyone who has participated in Billy Youth Theatre.’Lee Hall
